Every person experiences stress and worries in their day-to-day lives. In the right circumstances, feelings of anxiety allow us to stay alert and make quick responses in threatening or high-intensity situations. When our stress levels become something that obstructs our daily function, and anxiety sets in and begins to hold us back, you may be suffering from an anxiety disorder.

If you’re struggling with anxiety, help is available. We offer evidence-based, effective treatment that will allow you to live a healthier, calmer life.

What are the signs of anxiety?

If you feel that your anxiety is affecting your ability to cope, and is causing issues with work, school, relationships, and other levels of your life, it may be time to seek help. Here are some symptoms to look out for:

  • Feeling nervous, restless, or tense
  • Insomnia
  • Panic attacks
  • Feeling disconnected, in a dream like state
  • Having a sense of dread that something bad is going to happen
  • Trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than what
  • You are presently worried about
  • Having the urge to avoid all stimuli that may trigger anxiety
  • Feeling frozen, or that you can’t complete important tasks

In therapy, it will be essential for us to begin to understand the origin of your anxiety, and by doing so, learn how to change the thinking patterns and reactions you have in certain situations. Anxiety can be caused by a number of things, whether it be trauma, sudden life changes, or longstanding problems you’ve never had the opportunity to deal with. When we work together, you can start to discover where your anxiety stems from, and how to live your life alongside these worries in a healthier way.
