When providing services, I assist clients in their healing journey, empowering them as the ultimate healers. Healing begins deep within, enhancing alignment with the authentic self and fostering open expression without self-judgment.
I use a collaborative mindfulness approach tailored to each client’s needs for self-actualized growth. My eclectic methodology includes emotion-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to manage anxiety and depression. I have extensive experience with trauma, substance abuse, stress management, relationship and family conflict, and psychotic disorders. I have worked with teens, adults, and the elderly in individual and group therapy sessions and have 10 years of experience with the forensic population, conducting court-ordered evaluations. Additionally, I have spent a decade in executive roles, overseeing mental health practices and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Inspired by my father, a successful psychoanalyst, I sought to help others with their overall wellbeing. My diverse medical roles taught me the importance of integrating mind and body for holistic treatment. I emphasize evidence-based treatments and creative problem-solving to promote healing. Currently, I am enrolled in the board-certified program for Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy. I have a keen interest in psychedelic therapy, recognizing its high potential to significantly improve the quality of life for my patients. My goal is to one day incorporate these therapies into my practice.
During intake, I encourage clients to share openly, supporting their desire to improve. Progress is measured every 30 days, and psychoeducation is provided to reduce anxiety and explain treatment methods. My clinical interests include working with adolescents, adults, and corporate executives facing burnout and work-related stress, and performing forensic evaluations. I continue to expand my competencies in CBT, DBT, emotion-focused therapy, crisis intervention, and mindfulness practices, and am pursuing further certification and fellowship opportunities. My core values, shaped by my Southern and African American heritage, emphasize respect, honor, and cultural sensitivity, crucial for a strong therapeutic alliance.
He strongly believes in ethical practice and ensures that patients become a part of the decision making process of individualized treatment protocols best suited for them.
